Paul will focus on engagement techniques such as Dynamic Angular Petrissage (DAP) and other treatment techniques including segmental stretching, myofascial treatment technique for scar massage and shoulder and neck treatment associated with post surgical issues.

A case study will be used to look at the client symptoms in order to support the clinical reasoning and rational for the techniques and modalities utilized. Therapists will learn and practice body mechanics to reduce stress on the therapist. In addition self-care exercises will be covered for ongoing client treatment and recovery.

**Pre requisite for attendees is Level 3 Massage qualification. Please note that a level 3 massage qualification must be accredited (see GCMT website www.gcmt.org.uk)

At the end of the 2 day course the learner will have a better understanding of:

  • The combined use of various modalities involved in addressing each specific post operative issue.
  • Importance of assessment in determining which areas to treat not only for post operative but other issues for the upper body.
  • The use of Dynamic Angular Petrissage(DAP) how it is used in treatment relating to the upper body. Reliably demonstrate the ability to determine through reasoning which structures to address.
