Dynamic Angular Petrissage?
Definition:
DAP is a powerful, safe and effective technique because in addition to
requiring very little effort from the therapist, you will be able to
continually assess the clients progress; the range of motion, tissue
plyability, mobiity, texture, tone, tenderness and temperature while
treating. DAP will aid in better awareness of your own posture and body mechanics.
A term coined by Paul Lewis, RMT 2009. The therapist is moving the
client through a series of movement to simulate lengthening and
shortening of the muscles being worked on.
Simultaneously, The therapist is lengthing the muscle by extending the lever and or by moving the muscle attachment sites away from each other in order to lengthen the muscle while the other hand kneads the tissue.
A good understanding of muscle attachment sites and the actions of the muscles would aid in the application of the technique.

Paul's New DVD includes the use of Angular Petrissage for an
upper body treatment will be available Mid August.2010.
