Advanced Chair Massage Using Dynamic Angular Techniques
Dynamic Angular treatment method for chair massage therapists, which should prove very useful both in the theoretical and practical application of this convenient massage style. Whether you are treating the corporate athlete, seniors, pregnant women or injured clients, the skills learned here will be invaluable.

This workshop will be taught primarily through therapist hands-on participation and demonstrations. Therapists will review the basics, learn and practice advanced treatment techniques to be more efficient and effective in treating functionally problematic issues in selected upper body regions such as the neck, back and shoulder girdle.

The workshop will start with a common case presentation, to look at the symptomatic presentation in order to support the clinical reasoning and rationale for techniques, modalities, treatment positions and structures addressed. The Dynamic Angular treatment method will be used to enhance the therapy session and reduce treatment stresses on the therapist. The transferrable techniques can be used for able and non able body treatments.

Massage chairs will be available, however if you prefer to use your own trusty chair then please feel free to bring it along.

The Next Steps part 1: Effectively using DAP in your treatments

This half day workshop will focus on using and expanding on previously learned Dynamic Angular Petrissage(DAP) techniques to treat specific upper body issues. This practical workshop will address reasoning, rationale for techniques for areas addressed. We will focus on treating specific cervical restrictions, shoulder and scapula pain, expanding DAP to include techniques such as assisted DAP.

sheets required and some lotion, booklets will be provided

Novel Approach to Treating Axillary Web Syndrome(AWS)

Background and objectives: Axillary web syndrome (AWS), also called lymphatic cording, typically presents in the weeks after axillary surgery for breast cancer. This painful condition is likely angiolymphatic in origin. It restricts use of the upper extremity, and has no established treatment although physical therapy and other approaches have been used to variable effect. We applied therapeutic massage techniques using Dynamic Angular Petrissage (DAP) with the aim of quickly but gently reducing upper extremity pain and improving range of motion.
